Photovoltaics: The reporter learned from the Chinese Photovoltaic Industry Association, in the first 10 months of this year, the total value of solar products exported reached 17.74 billion US dollars, a 32.3% year on year increase, more than the total value of exports in 2018. Total exports are expected to exceed $20 billion in 2019.
In terms of output, in the first 10 months of this year, polysilicon output was 276,000 tons, up 34.6 percent year-on-year, and enterprise concentration increased further. In October, the output of 10,000-ton enterprises accounted for 97.2 percent of the total domestic output; the output of silicon wafers reached 113.7 Gigawatts, up 46.1 percent year-on-year The new capacity is mainly located in Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan and other regions with low electricity prices. The total output of battery chips reached 93.3 Gigawatts, up 54.2 percent year on year. The output of modules reached 83.9 Gigawatts, up 31.7 percent year on year.
Wang Bohua, vice-president and secretary-general of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said that according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) projections, photovoltaic power generation will lead the world in energy transformation, the global solar capacity will reach 2.48 terawatts by 2030; Photovoltaic power will account for 13% of total electricity generation by 2030. The cost of solar power will fall from $0.085 per kwh in 2018 to $0.02 in 2030 -- $0.08 per kwh.
With regard to the domestic photovoltaic market in particular, Wang Bohua believes that in the future, the production capacity of high-efficiency products will increase, the scale of production of head enterprises will become larger and larger, and the level of industrial competition will be further enhanced; in addition, industrial integration will continue to advance Some uncompetitive enterprises will gradually withdraw from the PV market.
